Call for advisory board members for Prozymi Biolabs

Prozymi Biolabs is a biotech start-up company based in Edinburgh, UK. We are proud to have developed a pioneering enzyme-based method to selectively degrade the allergenic parts of gluten that cause coeliac disease and gluten intolerances.

The company currently consists of two full time employees (the CEO Ioannis Strasinopoulos and lead scientist Austin Burroughs) as well as three unpaid staff (Niki Christopoulou, Isabel Vincent and Andreas Andreou). We have seen recent success with awards and grants from across Scotland, the UK and the EU and are starting to have conversations with potential partners that could take our innovations to the next level.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a diverse mixture of advisory board members to spend four hours per month starting September 2024 helping Prozymi Biolabs in an advisory capacity including:

  • quarterly 1 hour meetings (online)
  • up to 3 hours a month reviewing documents, making connections, advocating for the company or providing advice as required.

The advisory board is currently unpaid. This position will be reviewed on an annual basis depending on the financial situation of the company.

The expertise we are looking for in our advisory board includes (but is not limited to):

  • expertise in routes to market for bespoke enzymes
  • expertise in food additive regulation
  • marketing experience
  • experience with helping start ups move from lab scale to market scale
  • expertise in developing engineering biology products
  • experience in raising investments for early stage companies
